Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Coach DJ has earned a reputation as one of the most passionate and disciplined player developers in the game. His Southern roots and commitment to structure, accountability, and performance have shaped a coaching philosophy built on excellence and personal growth. After competing at National Park College (2019–2022), he quickly made his mark in the player-development world, leading Hangout Louisiana Baseball to a 2022 championship and later contributing to national recruiting and scouting with the College Scouting Bureau.

Now, Coach Bedell is focused on building 163 Artillery Baseball, a premier program powered by the Artillery Athletics Association (AAA). Through Artillery, he continues to mentor and develop athletes with a military-inspired standard of discipline, unity, and grit—preparing them to excel both on and off the field.

His mission remains simple: “Build better ballplayers. Build better men.”
